Can this really be true?

GIRL!!!!!! I can hardly believe it. I am waiting for the Doctor's Office to call me and tell me they made a mistake. I couldn't sleep last night because I was so trying to prepare myself for having a boy. I have been waiting a long time for a little girl! This baby is truly a gift from our Father in Heaven! How thankful we are that we have been instilled with it. We are beyond grateful. Now....TO GO SHOPPING!

We took Austin with us and skyped Gavin's kids in. Liam bet me $5 it was a boy, and now he owes me ;) Zoe started dancing as she is no longer the only girl! We got home and I tried to explain to Drew that mommy has a baby sister in her tummy. We've been calling the baby, Baby Bean. Which Drew has lovingly decided that his beg yellow oversized easter egg is the baby. He asked me if we could go pick up baby bean because it had hatched. I explained to him that baby bean needs to grow a little more and when it's ready to hatch we'll go to the hospital and get her. I'll spare him the details of what really happens until he's older. Ethan could care less, although Gavin and I are convinced that he is doing everything in his power to stay the baby as every time we even walk out of the room he freaks out. We still can't figure out how this baby was conceived with the lack of alone time because of Ethan. It'll be interesting how he takes it when she actually comes home!

We are overwhelmed, excited, and so ready to be done!

Christmas 2010

This year was our year with Gavin's kids. We decided to head to California and celebrate the holiday with Gavin's family. This also gave the kid the opportunity to meet their new Aunt Michelle. As usually we had the best time! We were bummed it didn't snow but that's ok, we didn't need snow to have fun.

Christmas Eve we had extended family over for the annual Prime Rib Dinner. As usual, Scott out did himself with the prime rib. Kim did an amazing job on the potatoes. So good, that I've decided I like her recipe better than mine....and she cooked them in the crock pot! And the salad was oh so yummy thanks to Jan. Then to finish off, homemade bread pudding again made by Scott. SO GOOD! Best meal of the year!

The kids wore their matching Christmas Jammies. I have a feeling this may be close to the end of the matching jammies as the kids are getting older. Oh well!

Christmas morning the kids couldn't contain themselves so by 7 am we were up and going. Merry Christmas to All! It was one to go down in the record books.

Disneyland

We had the opportunity to go to California for a couple days. the original plan was to go celebrate our anniversary, but somehow Drew found out we were going to "Mickey Park", aka Disneyland, and desperately wanted to go. We couldn't say no to that cute little face. In the midst of planning, my dear friend Serena was being sealed in the San Diego Temple and we couldn't miss that. Plus my parents planned on taking a quick trip to California also, so we met them there! We had a blast.

We are so glad we took Drewbee as it made it so fun watching his face and excitement. He loved every second and was so good! I've decided that this age is the funnest to take them. They take it all in and you can see it in their eyes.

Now to plan our next trip to Disneyland......

The pregnancy Story of Baby Bean

So here's the story. Back in September I had some really bad cramping. We went to the ER to find out I had ovarian cysts. They gave me pain medications but those didn't seem to be working so my OB decided to go ahead and drain them. He explained to me the pros and cons and that there is a possibility that he would have to remove the ovary but didn't think that would happen. First question I asked when I was coherent was did they take the ovary? The answer was sadly yes. The Dr was afraid of cancer and wanted to be safe and check them out. OK so that is a scare within itself.

Two weeks later I am in excruciating pain from the surgery...so I thought, that I ended up in the ER several times until finally my OB admitted me to run several tests. They did everything from x-rays to scans with contrast. And of course an ultrasound. They even did a routine pregnancy test. NOTHING! I just was having a hard recovery so they said.

The following week My brother in law came to town. And of course we had ice cream to celebrate them coming. Well that night should have been a sign as the ice cream tasted weird. What the heck? The next night I am getting ready for bed and I'm just not feeling myself, so my friend Jody, who is living with us for a while, went and bought me a pregnancy test. Gavin laughed at me and said there was no way and that I was completely over reacting.

So I take the test. As the lines come up and I see it's positive, I was at a loss. How could this happen? I just had surgery? The Dr said it would take some time for my hormones to balance out? And the panicking started, after I threw threw the pregnancy test at Gavin. What are we going to do? We have SIX children already! Gavin is in school and my pregnancies are not a walk in the park.

So the next morning I went to my OB's office with NO appointment and made my way back. I was able to have a blood test and Samantha, my Dr's PA, saw me to go over everything. We talked about where I was at in this pregnancy and did an ultra sound. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. This couldn't be happening. I thought for sure this was a mistake, until the ultra sound, and there it was....a little ball. Yes, this was really happening. We are really expecting!

I am now 16 weeks along and patiently waiting to hear what the verdict is on what this baby is. Will I finally get my girl? Or will we add another testosterone filled boy to this house?

We are overwhelmed and excited all together. So here we go again!

Washington DC and Trev's Wedding

Gavin and I got to go ALONE to DC this summer to do a little sight seeing, but the main event was Trevor and Michelle's Wedding in the DC Temple. It was so great to be able to spend time with The Curtis' Kids during this week. We went to the Jefferson Memorial, holocaust museum, the Smithsonian, saw the white house, Lincoln memorial and my favorite part....GEORGETOWN CUPCAKES! Did I mention I got the cupcakes for FREE because they lost my order!

To witness a sealing of two people and making the sacred covenant of marriage is one of the greatest blessings! She made a beautiful bride and Trev didn't look so bad himself ;)! They make a super cute couple and we are excited to have Michelle apart of the Curtis Clan!

Grand old time at the Grand Canyon

Can we say MAJOR catch up! We went to The Grand Canyon over memorial day weekend. We had a blast walking the trails and seeing this amazing earth that our Heavenly Father has created. We stayed overnight in Flagstaff. Which of course is always an adventure with six kids in a hotel. The kids swam and I hung out in the hotel room. We got up early in the morning and headed out. We spent several hours at the canyon, then headed to lunch at a place that looked like the Flintstones. The kids loved it! Now we can check the Grand Canyon off our list of places to visit.

Can We all Say Oooops!

I'll eventually blog the story, but for now.....BABY #7 is on it's way! And we are DONE! I have never felt more certain about something in my life! We are super excited but overwhelmed! Send girlie vibes, because this is it! I need some more estrogen in this house! Baby is Due June 19!
